Chogori India Retail Limited “CIRL” was founded by our Promoter, Hemant Sachdev – a passionate mountaineer and an Everester. He named Chogori after Mountain K2, world’s 2nd highest mountain.
Chogori India Retail Limited has been an exclusive distributor for a number of outdoor brands in India, which is a specialised section of sportswear. Currently, the company markets and distributes international premium brands such as Columbia Sporstwear, Deuter, Lowa, Buff, Black Diamond, Beal, Julbo and Adventuras in India.
The company has a rich history in retail and distribution in India, and in the past has been the exclusive partner for reputed international brands including Crocs, Magnum and Jansport.
With over 200 employees, Chogori has maintained over 70% growth year on year and is a trend-setter in the best-in-class outdoor brand space. Chogori’s expansion strategy is now to solidify & build on its leadership position in the premium Outdoor market.
The company currently operates 33 branded stores, a robust online business and key distribution partnerships in strategic locations like the North and North east.
While the interest in these mountain sports is increasing, the gap lies in lack of knowledge about the right equipment and clothing required to face the unexpected/challenging landscapes and weather conditions. People in India are dependent on similar clothing/equipment to be used across situations. Fashion clothing and accessories are utilized during these adventures which is a risky preposition. Moreover, to buy relevant gear and equipment, buyers have to go from shop to shop, there is no single avenue that can cater to all their needs under one roof.
